Damon Selvey is a community corrections professional and adjunct professor with 20+ years of federal justice-system experience and a deep command of evidence-based practice. He combines operational discipline with the curiosity of a lifelong trainer, translating federal research into practical, classroom-ready curricula.

Since 2001, he has served as a United States Probation Officer with the Southern District of Illinois, where his caseload, supervisory work, and officer-development responsibilities have grounded him in the day-to-day realities of community supervision. On temporary assignment to the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts in Washington, D.C., he led teaching and coaching for the Criminogenic Needs and Violence Curriculum, completed STARR (Staff Training Aimed at Reducing Risk) Coach and Implementation Science training, and contributed to the design of the federal Sentinel Event Review Instrument, including establishing the SharePoint infrastructure and contracting with system leaders for sentinel event investigations.

He led the Evidence-Based Practice Study alongside AO administrators, vetting over 160 applicants (Deputy Chiefs, Supervisors, Specialists, and Probation and Pretrial Officer volunteers) and assembling cross-district teams to perform in-district observations and remote casefile reviews. At C II C, he advises clients on workforce training design, evidence-based program evaluation, and curriculum development, bringing federal-scale research discipline to engagements across education, healthcare, government, and the private sector.
